(4 - 5 hrs one way Approx) After breakfast at the hotel drive towards Nubra valley via Khardungla pass (18350 feet) by surface passing through Horzey & Gangles Village. On arrival in Nubra Valley, drive to disk it, visit Deskit, the HQ town of Nubra Valley. Driving for 30 Kms takes to Khalsar Bridge. Visit desklit monastery. Further drive from Diskit to Hunder, you may see a few Double Humped, Hairy and Bactrian Camels Overnight stay in camp at Nubra Valley.
Nubra to Pangong via Shyok River (14270 i.e. 4350 mts)Night Stay: Pangong, Hotel Distance/Time Taken: 147 Km. (04 - 05 hrs one way Approx) After breakfast at Nubra valley drive toward Pangong Lake via Shayok. The name Pangong is derived from the Tibetan word Banggong Co meaning long, narrow, enchanted lake. There is a narrow ramp-like formation of land that runs into the lake which is a favorite among tourists and photographers. Due to the saltiness in the water of the lake, there is very less micro-vegetation. There are no fish or other aquatic life in the lake, except for some small crustaceans. However, numerous ducks and gulls over and on the lake surface can be spotted in plenty. There are some species of scrub and perennial herbs that grow in the marshes around the lake. DAY TRIP TO MONASTERIES & PALACESToday is the day for cultural immersion in and around Leh. Sightseeing will include a visit to Thiksey Gompa, one of the most breathtaking monasteries in Ladakh followed by Shey Palace and Druk White Lotus Rancho School. Now we’ll head towards Hemis which hosts one of the most well-known festivals in Ladakh. In the evening, we'll head to Leh Palace followed by Shanti Stupa - bask in the peace amidst this hilltop Stupa and revel in the panoramic view of the city. The sunset is the perfect backdrop you wished for. Dinner and overnight stay in Leh.
