It is known as grandees of snow-capped mountains. The city witnesses severe cold day conditions as the night temperature falls to 9.4 degree C as well which makes it chillier during the day. The month of January is considered as the coldest to visit Manali as the average low-temperature goes around 6.3 degree C.

  • Jogini Waterfalls: The trail that leads to the waterfall is scenic and gives you a glimpse of the River Beas and the snow-capped peaks of Rohtang. An early start is recommended so that you can spend more time at this picturesque natural spot. The exact location would be nearby Vashisht Village, Manali and the timings won’t be a barrier as one can visit 24×7 which is the best part.
  • Solang Valley: 14 kilometres away to the north west of the main town of Manali, Solang Valley is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh. This is known as one of the favourite for adventure enthusiasts as one can do parachuting, paragliding, horse riding and even driving mini-open jeeps.
  • The Manali Gompa: The ornate design and the quintessential Tibetan architecture make the Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa, more commonly referred to as the Manali Gompa, one of the finest landmarks in Manali. Gompa includes exquisite murals that depict important events of Buddhism in vivid colours and roofs built in the Pagoda style. The stalls in the complex are a good place to pick up some souvenirs and Tibetan handicraft items and it is located near the Old Manali Road which is opens around 6 in the morning and shuts down by 6 in the evening and is closed on Sundays.

There are other beautiful places to visit in Manali which includes Rohtang Pass, Hidimba Temple, Sethan Valley, Manu Temple, Arjun Gufa, Bhrigu Lake, Van Vihar, Malana, Kothi Village, Museum of Himachal Culture & Folk Art etc. December end to January is the time when you can enjoy snowfall and the spectacular scenic white views of the surrounding mountains and it’s the best time for skiing as well.
